French OTT TV platform Molotov is claiming two million active users per month, with 500,000 of them connecting daily, Jean-David Blanc, one of the founders with Pierre Lescure and Jean-Marc Denoual, told a press conference in Paris.

Forty per cent of registered users connect at least five times a week. The service, which is targeting 100 million subscribers in the next five years, is available free of charge or with a pay option to access additional pay-TV channels. From March 20th, pay users will also be able to use their app throughout Europe, Blanc added.

Molotov, in which Sky has a €4 million investment, is still looking to develop itself in Europe and for new partnerships, with the intention of raising new funds.

Last October, Molotov announced it was now streaming 1080p and 4K content across multiple devices, including 2017 Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield, Sony Bravia UHD TVs, Chromecast Ultra and Android compatible devices.
