VeEX receives Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award

February 13, 2018

VeEX , a global player in telecom, CaTV, fibre, transport, and broadband access and a member of the FTTH Council Europe, has been awarded Frost & Sullivan’s 2017 Global Optical Time-domain Reflectometer (OTDR) New Product Innovation Award.

The company’s product innovation centered on the new OPX-BOXe, an ultra-compact, “black box” OTDR designed to operate remotely using Fiberizer Mobile software or embedded Web browser application. The product’s enhanced Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection capability, its Ethernet and USB wired remote control options, and its compatibility with iOS, Android, and Windows mobile devices were among some of the unique features recognized.

“The ability to develop an innovative product in a very mature market segment surrounded by intense competition is what truly defines and sets VeEX apart,” said Mike Venter, Vice President, Business Development, Optical Solutions at VeEX. “Witnessing the industry trend towards mobile applications several years ago, we quickly realised the importance of having test equipment that could be operated remotely using smartphones and tablet devices. In recognition of this forward thinking, VeEX was awarded patent #8,902,607 for this test methodology and test apparatus back in February 2015.”

“Founded by test and measurement veterans, VeEX has a strong and experienced foundation and head start combined with superior customer rapport and intelligence,” said Sujan Sami, Program Manager of Measurement and Instrumentation, Frost & Sullivan. “It has empowered the company to understand changing customer requirements and develop products that fulfill them.”
