Turner has reshaped its finance team in Asia Pacific with two new hires under the company’s CFO, Clement Schwebig.
David Liu has been appointed Senior Finance Director based in the media company’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong, with Joseph Tan joining as Finance Director for Turner’s Southeast Asia business based out of Singapore.
Liu is responsible for coordinating all finance related tasks across Asia Pacific and leads the region’s central team. His role is instrumental in shaping a unified reporting structure, while continuing to upgrade forecasting and budgeting processes.
Tan’s role is to manage the strategic financial needs of Southeast Asia Pacific offices. He will partner closely with Schwebig and Phil Nelson, SVP & MD of Southeast Asia Pacific and North Asia.
“With our industry constantly shifting and our business evolving, I’m very pleased to welcome these two dynamic members to our team. David is our terrific asset to oversee our regional team in Hong Kong, with Joseph supporting the Southeast Asia and Pacific region from Singapore,” commented Schwebig, who took on the role of Turner Asia Pacific’s CFO and SVP Business Development, Licensing and China, in May 2017.
Prior to Turner, Liu was the Head of Finance for NBA Asia and India, where he was working since 2010. As a CPA, CMA, he naturally joins with a strong financial expertise, and also brings a good understanding of both the region and the industry.
Tan has 12 years’ experience in the advertising industry. Prior to joining Turner, he was Finance Director of Publicis Communications Singapore. During his time at Publicis, he unified and led all financial and operational functions across its seven agencies such as Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi. The client portfolio included Procter & Gamble, Audi, Mead Johnson and Scoot.
