HBO GO further expands in Europe

March 26, 2018

HBO GO direct to consumer service has launched in Poland, meaning all 17 countries under the HBO Europe umbrella now subscriber to the HBO OTT service

“We are happy to announce today we launched HBO GO OTT in Poland, and this means all our subscribers in Europe can now enjoy the HBO service direct to consumer,” said Hervé Payan, CEO HBO Europe. In Europe HBO now operates the three regional OTT platforms HBO España, HBO Nordic (Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland), and HBO GO in 12 Central European countries. The HBO VoD platforms contain HBO’s entire library of original series, films and documentaries, HBO Europe’s acclaimed local productions, a big selection of the best series from other premium content providers, as well as hit movies and kids programming.

The HBO GO service will allow subscribers to enjoy all seasons of popular and critically-acclaimed HBO original content such as Game of Thrones, Westworld, Big Little Lies and Silicon Valley, alongside popular classic series such as Sex and the City, The Sopranos and The Wire.

“The HBO service is already a great success across our territories within Europe. With this further expansion, we are making it even easier for series and film lovers to become HBO subscribers. We believe new subscribers will be very satisfied with our unique offering of internationally-acclaimed programming and locally-produced drama and documentaries. We will also continue to increase our investment in local programming across all territories in Europe,” added Payan.

The direct to consumer offering is in addition to the already established HBO channels and services in Europe. HBO GO will continue to be available through local distribution partners with TV, Internet or mobile packages.
