Croatia’s Hrvatski Telekom has become one the first operators in Europe to offer 1 Gbps symmetrical speeds to fibre customers thanks to the introduction of TeraStream technology.

Fully based on the IPv6 protocol, the TeraStream technology combines network technology, data centre technology, and optical fibre infrastructure to enable the transmission of large data volumes at extremely high speeds.

As a result, customers can now access the Internet at speeds of up to 50 times the current rate and to watch content on IPTV platform MAXtv in 4K resolution. With a basic speed of 500 Mbps, customers can play video games in the Cloud, watch the most demanding video content on multiple devices, and “communicate” with the refrigerator or lighting system.

Two packages are available: MAXnet (stand-alone Internet) and MAX2 (voice service + Onternet), both with a basic speed of 500 Mbps, which can be increased by the customers to 1 Gbps in real time.

In order to watch certain TV content, customers can purchase one of the new MAXtv to Go packages, among them the 4K package, and the Android set-top box, and use them via TeraStream.

The operator is offering TeraStream to residential customers in certain parts of the cities of Zagreb, Split and Karlovac.
