Friend MTS launches Partner Programme

April 6, 2018

Content and revenue protection specialist Friend MTS has launched an ASiD Watermarking Partner Programme to accelerate the adoption of its widely-used video watermarking service for premium sports and entertainment providers.

The first technology partners to join the programme are OTT video player solution providers VisualOn, NexPlayer and Bitmovin.

“With the growing menace of streaming piracy, rights owners of premium content are demanding subscriber-level watermarking on channels carrying their content to protect revenues and deter theft,” said Simon Hanna, Partnerships Director at Friend MTS. “We’ll be expanding this strategic programme significantly in the coming months to include set-top box SoC suppliers, middleware vendors, application developers and system integrators.”

Friend MTS’s automated ASiD service incorporates global channel monitoring with fingerprint-based content recognition, and this integrates tightly with watermarking for subscriber identification. This end-to-end service, designed for broadcast and OTT applications, can connect with subscriber management systems to deactivate streaming piracy within minutes, securing live channels, PPV events and on-demand assets.
