Each day, 9.5 million people in France are watching TV online, either live or catch-up, via a TV set.
According to data from Mediametrie, some 4.4 million (7.3 per cent of the country’s population) aged 4 and above now watches online TV on a device other than a TV set, such as a smartphone or a tablet. This marks 10 per cent growth over the last 12 months.
TV websites and apps represent almost half (46 per cent) of all time spent watching TV content online. Other sources include catch-up platforms and social networks.
VoD and SVoD platforms are used on a daily basis by 3.4 million individuals on any kind of device. Children aged between 4 and 14 years old are the biggest consumers of online content.
