June 22, 2018

US programmer AMC has renewed its popular and critically-acclaimed anthology series, The Terror for a second season. The next iteration of The Terror anthology will be set during World War II and centre on an uncanny spectre that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.

The next season of The Terror anthology is expected to air on AMC in 2019 with 10 episodes. The series is distributed internationally by AMC Studios and premieres across AMC Global markets as well as in certain Amazon Prime Video territories.

Season one was the number two new drama on US cable for the current television season and a top 10 drama on ad-supported cable overall, well-received by critics and audiences alike.

In March 2018, AMC made all episodes available to AMC Premiere customers on the night of the show’s US TV premiere. AMC Premiere customers were able to binge all ten episodes of The Terror commercial-free, simultaneous with the show’s linear premiere on AMC on March 26th at 9pm.

In April 2018, BT TV, which has exclusive rights to AMC content in the UK, made the first episode available to watch for free on YouTube. Viewers were able to watch the opening episode of the thriller on YouTube for 24 hours from 00:01am on April 24th. This was the first time a pay-TV show has launched in the UK on YouTube before it had been broadcast on television.
