New Netgem TV experience for UK
June 28, 2018
Netgem has announced the launch of the new Netgem TV experience, designed for the UK market. Combining in one simple interface the best of ‘free-to-view’ and ‘skinny bundles’ with On-Demand streaming content, it offers:
– Freeview Play provides subscription-free catch-up and On-Demand access to BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play;
– A range of content from streaming services without contract, such as Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten TV, Hayu, Hopster, Trace TV and many more, bringing thousands of hours of the best On-Demand premium series and movies.
The Netgem TV experience focuses on giving UK viewers quick and simple access to the best series and TV shows, via ‘one-click-streaming’, or Voice Control with Alexa:
– One click on Grand Tour will present directly the latest episode available on Amazon Prime Video;
– Saying ‘Watch Love Island’ with Alexa will launch the latest episode of the reality show on ITV Hub without trawling through menus.
Netgem TV is available on Netgem branded devices, and is also partnering with manufacturers on a wider range of smart TV devices available in the second half of 2018.
Sylvain Thevenot, Managing Director of Netgem UK commented: “With Freeview Play, smart TV devices powered by Netgem TV now clearly offer the ultimate lean-back entertainment experience, and by far the most sensible upgrade for all UK viewers looking for the best value entertainment proposition, combining innovation, simplicity of use, and On-Demand access to free and premium content, on TV and mobile”.
