Mediaset to broadcast Serie A
July 16, 2018
From Branislav Pekic in Rome
Italian broadcaster Mediaset has reached an agreement with digital sports content and media group Perform for the broadcasting of selected Serie A football games and the entire Serie B championship.
This is the first distribution deal signed after the assigning of the Italian TV rights to the Serie A for the seasons 2018-2021.
Perform Group’s on-demand global sport streaming service DAZN secured the exclusive multi-platform broadcast rights to 114 Serie A matches per season. It will show three matches per week plus all Serie A highlights.
DAZN was also awarded all the Serie B matches, with 10 matches out of 11 per matchday exclusively.
As a result of the agreement, customers of Mediaset’s pay-TV service Premium Calcio will, from August 1st, gain access to sports events broadcast live, on-demand and in HD by the DAZN platform. At the same time, they will benefit from a reduced monthly subscription of €19.90 per month.
