From Branislav Pekic in Rome

Sky Italia has reached an agreement with UK-based group Perform that will enable the pay-TV broadcaster to offer Serie A football matches to its subscribers.

This means that Sky Italia subscribers will get access to three weekly Serie A matches (116 per season) purchased exclusively by online streaming service DAZN and the entire Serie B at a discounted price of €7.99.

For its part, Sky Italia secured the exclusive pay-TV rights for 7 out of 10 weekly Serie A matches, for a total of 244 exclusive matches.

The DAZN app will be integrated into the SkyQ platform and Sky Italia subscribers will be provided with virtual “tickets” that will allow access to DAZN contents. The tickets can also be used on connected devices: tablets, smartphones, PCs, smart TVs and video game consoles (Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox One).

Sky Italia will release more details on the offer in mid-August.

Perform purchased part of the TV rights for the Serie A and the entire Serie B rights for €193.3 million and matches will streamed via DAZN for €9.99 per month.
