Slovenia’s Agency for Communications Network and Services (AKOS) has awarded the first licences to distribute pay-TV channels on the nationwide DTT network.

Eight broadcasters received licensed following a public tender procedure. The companies in question are: Veseljak TV (for the TV Veseljak channel); Autor (for the Croatian Music Channel – CMC); ASPN (for channels Šport TV in Šport TV Dve); United Media (for SportKlub1, SportKlub2, SportKlub3, GolfKlub, Pikaboo, Vavoom and LoR); Adria News (for N1 Today); Fox Networks Group Bulgaria (for channels National Geographic Channel, 24 Kitchen, Fox Crime, Fox, Fox Movies and FoxLife); AMC Networks Central Europe (for Minimax Channel Slovenia and AMC Channel Slovenia); and Viasat World Limited (for Viasat History and TV1000 Balkans).

As a result, Slovenian TV viewers will get a package of both national and foreign TV channels on DTT in the future.

The newly licensed TV channels will use multiplex C which used to host the national commercial TV channels Pop TV, Kanal A and Planet TV until 2017.
