BitMovio platform partnerships

October 4, 2018

BitMovio has announced several key partnerships with content providers which will bring over 500 hours ofvideo entertainment for audiences to enjoy through its marketplace upon public launch. Arrow Storm Entertainment, Black Apple Talent, Elation Media, Forth Media, and ImAirTV are the newest partners to sign on with BitMovio, since its recent closed beta launch in September.

Each partner brings free and paid content to BitMovio’s platform, some of which will be exclusive to BitMovio. Black Apple Talent will offer content spanning a wide array of formats including feature films, episodics, documentaries, short films and digital series. Arrow Storm will showcase over 20 feature films, while Elation Media will offer 200 hours of body-mind holistic content from its Elation TV catalogue. Fourth Media will provide live streaming performances, including musical acts, visual artists, performance artists, special events and comedians, in addition to behind-the-scenes interviews, contests, giveaways, and Q&A sessions. ImAirTV will offer approximately 30 hours of aviation-related titles featuring a mix of unscripted series and event shows.

Simon Zhu, Co-founder and CEO of BitMovio, said: “We’re quickly establishing the BitMovio marketplace with a robust catalog of video content, which we’ll be bringing to the public through an open beta in the coming months. Our newest partners set the bar for rich, engaging content, and we’re looking forward to seeing how audiences respond.”

Sarah Yapelli, owner of Black Apple Talent, represents actors, writers and filmmakers who are “archetypes and icons, villains, heroes, and keepers of fairytale and myth”.  She noted, “BitMovio not only allows content producers control over their distribution, but allows direct interaction with their audience. Much as technology has democratized film production, bringing independent film into it’s new golden age, BitMovio’s decentralized, interactive platform is leading the charge into a new era of distribution.  As an agency which exists to unite and champion independent creators, we are excited to be partnered with BitMovio as the open beta goes public.”

Elation TV’s chairman Gerald Levin, founder of HBO and former Chairman/CEO of Time Warner, praised BitMovio’s blockchain technology as “the cutting edge of video distribution.” Elation TV’s Founder Robert Schnitzer said, “This new platform is also ideal for launching our live linear service in Q2 of 2019.”

BitMovio is building a video community, which connects forward-thinking content creators with passionate consumers through engaging stories. Through its decentralised and blockchain-enabled video streaming marketplace, BitMovio enables fundamentally new ways for content creators to monetize their content and engage viewers, while involving audiences in the creative process.

The partnership news falls on the heels of BitMovio’s recently announced pre-seed round of equity funding secured with participation from Silicon Valley-based IMO Ventures, Basis Set Ventures, and BlockCentury, and Boston-based NorthBay Solutions, the Play Labs Fund, and Seraph Investments.
