Deutsche Telekom rolls out MagentaTV

Deutsche Telekom, the German telco, has rolled out its rebranded OTT TV offer in the country. Previously known as Entertain TV, the service will now be branded as MagentaTV.

MagentaTV offers a whole new UI and some 75 TV channels, 45 of which are in HD, as well as catch-up VoD content, for €7.95 per month.

For the first time, the catch-up service will feature content from public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.

MagentaTV is initially available through iOS and Android apps, as well as through Chromecast and the web browser. Additional operating systems will be added in due course, including Smart TV apps.

The IPTV version of MagentaTV, which is available to DT’s broadband customers through a STB will continue provide the full package 300 TV channels.
