Slovenian multiplay operator Telekom Slovenije has launched NEO, the next generation of home entertainment that integrates an open, secure, cloud-connected, state-of-the-art smart home solution, that also supports pay-TV services, gaming and e-commerce.
By developing a smart living and entertainment platform, Telekom Slovenije offers its users the option of managing TV content and smart home devices from one place, using voice commands in their native language (for now NEO understands Slovenian and English language).
The NEO smart living and entertainment platform combines the best solutions for home and entertainment – a simple way to watch and discover content, simple management of smart home devices, online shopping on the TV screen, and coming soon also gaming without a video games console. The concept, architecture and technical design of the platform was made by Telekom Slovenije’s experts, who then completed the development in collaboration with established local and international partners.

We know our users well, so we know how they watch and search for content. We used this information when designing NEO, and it will also allow us to infinitely customize it in the future, and regularly introduce new features that will be tailored to the users’ needs. This way we simplify our users’ lives, open numerous opportunities and provide security, which is the basis of trust.”
The NEO smart living and entertainment platform has been designed as a modular and adaptive service, with the truly attractive option of using voice commands, and it is also possible to add quick features to the platform seamlessly and effortlessly by upgrading existing user infrastructure. As an OTT platform, NEO can be tailored for use with different operator infrastructures, and can be integrated into their CRM and billing systems, and into their content libraries.
The solution includes hardware, a client, cloud back-end, nPVR, catch-up, smart home, and local-language voice integration with multiple devices for user-building scenarios on STBs, TVs, smartphones, tablets, PCs, smartwatches and smart home devices.
