Vionlabs appoints Wilson as Senior Advisor

Vionlabs has announced that the company has strengthened its leadership with the appointment of industry veteran Giles Wilson as Senior Advisor to its leadership team. This follows a significant recent investment from Zenith Ventures and Reeda Capital and signals Vionlabs clear intention to scale out its unique capabilities in content discovery within the global media industry.
Arash Pendari, CEO of Vionlabs, stated “Giles’ extensive experience in scaling up media tech companies together with his knowledge of the media ecosystem and technologies make him a perfect match for Vionlabs. We are committed to our mission of enabling operators and OTT’s increase their value by enabling them to connect their customers with content that they want to consume. Through our work in 2018 we have seen a strong need for discovery engines amongst operators and other video service providers. As a result, we have taken the decision to expand our capabilities in order to meet the high demand we are seeing from the market”
On the back of this appointment, Vionlabs has already actioned plans to significantly increase its capabilities in R&D and operations.
Commenting on his appointment Wilson stated “This a hugely exciting time in media but not without its challenges. OTT services are on the rise, content costs are increasing and content libraries are deepening. It is crucial for operators to effectively leverage their investments in content and satisfy consumers by ensuring that the most appropriate and appealing content in the catalogue is made visible to the user directly in the UI.
