January 31, 2019

Amazon Prime Video is producing a new Spanish language docuseries with Sergio Ramos, captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national football team. The show, currently in production, is set to premiere in 2019 and will be exclusively available on Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

The new docuseries is an entertaining, half-hour, eight-episode depiction of the daily life of world football star, Sergio Ramos, showing what it takes to be an elite football player, including private moments shared with his family giving Prime Video members an unprecedented look at the life of a star football player on and off the field.

This docuseries will show a different side of a Sergio Ramos which has never been captured on television before. Although football is at the heart of the show, we will also get to know the most important elements from outside the field that have shaped Sergio Ramos’s personality and values: his family (where each person has a story to tell about him), his roots from Andalusia in southern Spain and his passion for tattoos. Viewers will also discover his legacy from his beginnings in Seville through his leadership at the national team and Real Madrid.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this exclusive project with Sergio Ramos to Prime members and football fans all over the world,” said Georgia Brown, Director of European Originals, Amazon Prime Video. “It is a fantastic addition to our Prime Video programming slate in Spain. We’re sure our customers will love seeing Sergio in these unique and private moments on and off the field.”

“I’m excited to be able to show football fans what it takes to be a professional athlete, the responsibility of wearing Real Madrid’s and Spain’s armband and how to juggle that with a normal personal life. I think that anyone who is devoted to his profession can feel reflected in the series and there is no better partner to do so than Amazon Prime Video,” said Sergio Ramos.
