Samsung expects 2019 to be a prosperous year for its 8K display sales. Helped by innovative products like the stackable ‘The Wall’ (which can be built up to 219”), Samsung says it expects to account for half of the 8K displays sold this year.
President of Samsung’s Visual Display unit Jonghee Han, speaking to journalists, said that since launching 8K TVs in South Korea last November, more than half of the 8K units sold have been from Samsung.
Having started retailing the displays in its home country of South Korea, Samsung has gone on to find retail success – albeit with high-end customers – in the US, Russia and Europe. It is now rolling out the 8K models in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
