CBS Reality, the #1 factual entertainment channel in the UK amongst women 16+, owned by AMC Networks International – UK and CBS Studios International, today announced two exclusive CBS Reality Original commissions, “The Real Prime Suspect” and “The Profiler” launching later this year.

“The Real Prime Suspect” is a 10-part series led by Jackie Malton, a former Met Police Officer, the first female member of the Flying Squad and the inspiration for the character of DCI Jane Tennison, played by Helen Mirren, in the multi-award winning drama “Prime Suspect” by Lynda La Plante. Using her unparalleled list of contacts, Malton will get access to ten case files and revisit the investigations with the police, detectives, and other professionals who experienced them first hand. Malton is the heart of the series, guiding the audience through every step of the journey, from capturing the prime suspect, to gaining a conviction and providing closure to those who seek it. This is the first time Malton fronts a documentary series. The series will premiere on CBS Reality UK in the Autumn and will be seen on the network in Poland and Africa later this year.

“Zawód: Profiler” (The Profiler) is the first CBS Reality Original production to be exclusively based and produced in Poland, in the Polish language. Led by Poland’s top criminal profiler, Jan Gołębiowski, the 10-part documentary series takes an in-depth look at the profession of a profiler, and the central role that their findings play in criminal investigations and securing convictions. Each episode will feature a different Polish case, demonstrating how crimes are often solved by starting at the end, with a variety of likely hypotheses. As each new fact or piece of evidence comes to light, another incorrect theory or avenue is eliminated, and the profiler draws closer to the truth, eventually revealing the perpetrator and their motivations. “Zawód: Profiler” will premiere on CBS Reality in Poland on 3 June at 10pm.

“The Real Prime Suspect” is produced by Monster Films. Distributor Orange Smarty is associate producer on the production representing its first significant investment into an original commission. The company also has secured global rights to the series worldwide, excluding the UK, Africa and Poland.’
