Masters comes to Norway, Poland, Russia with GOLFTV

April 5, 2019

One of the most iconic events on the golf calendar, the Masters Tournament, will be presented in Norway, Poland and Russia on Discovery’s GOLFTV following a new agreement. The partnership signals the first men’s Major to be available anywhere on GOLFTV, strengthening a portfolio in Norway, Poland and Russia that features many of the sport’s superstar players and tournaments each week.

GOLFTV – the live and on-demand video streaming service for golf fans around the world – will offer exclusive live coverage of the Masters Tournament in Norway, Poland and Russia, including:

  • All four Tournament rounds (Thursday 11th April – Sunday 14th April 2019)
  • Daily Feature Groups and Feature Holes live, including the iconic Amen Corner
  • The pre-Tournament Par 3 Contest (Wednesday 10th April 2019)

In addition, television coverage will be available in Norway and Poland on Eurosport, Discovery’s sports channel.

In a move to further grow the reach and engagement around the Masters Tournament in Europe, GOLFTV will also present a dedicated highlights programme in markets across the continent. The post-Tournament review, scheduled this year on April 16th will recount the most special moments from the Tournament and celebrate the latest Masters champion and recipient of one of the most coveted prizes in golf: the Green Jacket.

Alex Kaplan, President and General Manager, Discovery Golf and GOLFTV, said: “It is a privilege for Discovery to present the Masters in Norway, Poland and Russia and welcome the first Major of the year to GOLFTV in those markets.  Augusta National has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments and we can’t wait to share many more with passionate fans of the game in these countries. Adding a Major in these markets to GOLFTV’s growing portfolio of live action is a further sign of our ambition and desire to build the best possible experience for golf fans everywhere,” he said.

For the coverage and highlights within the territories under the agreement, Discovery holds exclusive multiplatform rights spanning free-to-air TV, pay-TV and digital, including for online and OTT services.
