Movistar OTT targets rival platforms

In an attempt to extend its customer base and gain new subscribers from its competitors, Movistar is launching an OTT service specifically targeting other platforms customers.

Launching in June, the new OTT service will include a selection of Movistar Plus pay-TV offers such as Movistar Series and Seriesmania, #0 channel, the sports channel #Vamos = all of them produced by Movistar – at a price of €8 a month. It will also include a catalogue of 300 TV series and 270 films, among other content.

The company is also targeting customers with a second home (on the coast, mountains etc) to take its convergent service Fusión, with prices between €15 and €30 a month.

Finally, Movistar is also launching Priority, an exclusive Customer Service platform for-those who spend the most on services. It will offer personalised attention, with experts and agents, and a tech expert at the subscriber’s disposal to help them with devices. It will also offer promotions on phones and tablets.
