Sky latest sponsor of Rise Mentoring programme

May 16, 2019

Rise, the award-winning advocate group for gender diversity within the broadcast manufacturing and services sector, has announced that Sky is the latest company to come on board as a sponsor for its mentoring programme.

Sky’s broadcast engineering department will join Rise as a Gold Level sponsor and will be hosting its first joint event on May 15th at Sky HQ. The event will focus on women in television engineering at Sky, and also host a panel about women in broadcast technology.

Kat Lancaster, Graphics & Data Solutions Support Manager, Sky: “There are too few women working in broadcast engineering. It’s a small sector but with lots of opportunities and we need to inspire more young women and girls into broadcast roles. I’m proud that Sky is fully committed to challenging the status quo and working with Rise to tackle the challenge.”

Carrie Wootten, Director of Rise, adds: “We are absolutely delighted that Sky is joining us as a sponsor for our award-winning mentoring programme. When we first began this initiative in late 2017 we knew the power of mentoring and the difference that can be made in the lives of both the mentees and mentors, but the amount of recognition and support that has been shown this year is outstanding. I look forward to see where this new sponsorship with Sky takes Rise and how the programme continues to grow with their support, and the continued support of all our other industry sponsors.”
