The first episode of historical drama Chernobyl pulled in a 7-day cumulative audience of over 1.7 million – the biggest audience for a Sky original drama this year.
It is also the third best ever launch for an original drama on Sky Atlantic (behind only Fortitude and Britannia).
Viewing figures are still going strong for episode 2 – they are yet to fully consolidate but at time of writing 7-day cumulative viewing is already up to nearly 1.5 million.
The series, based on the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, is a co-production between Sky and HBO.
