StarzPlay acquires Batman prequel Pennyworth

StarzPlay, the SVoD service from Starz, has acquired drama series Pennyworth for the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Latin America.
From Warner Horizon Scripted Television, the DC origin series Pennyworth follows Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon – The Imitation Game), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company in 1960s London and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge – Fleabag), who’s not yet become Bruce Wayne’s father.
Based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, the 10 episode series from Warner Horizon Scripted Television is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros International Television Distribution.
The StarzPlay premium streaming service is available on the Apple TV app, Prime Video Channels and Virgin Media, giving subscribers access to acclaimed series like Mr. Mercedes, Deadly Class and the anthology series The Act along with its growing selection of exclusive Starz Originals on the same day they launch in the US, including The Spanish Princess and Vida and hit movies like Watchmen and Hacksaw Ridge.
