Sky Sports signs Scott, Cates, Woods, Barker & Barbour

In time before Transfer Deadline Day, Sky Sports has added new signings to the football team ahead of a brand-new season that kicks off this week.

Fresh from her debut season of Premier League coverage and a Women’s World Cup over the summer, Alex Scott will become the new presenter of Goals On Sunday, alongside Chris Kamara.

The new season begins this Friday with Luton welcoming Middlesbrough to Kenilworth Road, with David Prutton hosting the live coverage and Caroline Barker will join the team as pitch-side reporter.

It’s a double-header on Saturday with newly-promoted Salford City playing host to Stevenage, before Nottingham Forest take on West Brom in the evening kick-off, with Scott Minto hosting the two games.

On Sunday Eilidh Barbour begins her new role presenting live SPFL coverage from Rugby Park as Kilmarnock start the season against Rangers. Laura Woods will host Carabao Cup coverage in the knock-out stages beginning next week with Portsmouth against Birmingham.

Then on Friday 9 August the new Premier League season kicks off with Liverpool playing Norwich City, Kelly Cates will be joined by Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher for Friday Night Football.

David Jones will host a spectacular Super Sunday two days later as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes on Frank Lampard for the first time at Old Trafford. Man Utd v Chelsea follows Arsenal’s trip to Newcastle United.
