Magine Pro launches Dynamic Ad Insertion with Sappa

September 9, 2019

Magine Pro, the OTT platform for managed services is now deploying Server Side Ad Insertion as the latest step in its partnership with Swedish ISP and TV provider Sappa

Sappa and Magine have partnered since 2017 on Sappa’s OTT TV Everywhere service for the web, iOS and Android devices on MaginePro’s platform. Sappa uses MaginePro’s Media Pipeline and DRM platform to securely ingest, transcode and protect 50 linear Sappa channels, as well as ingesting VOD content from Nordic Entertainment Group-owned Viasat, Discovery Network, Viacom, Disney etc.

The service for Sappa includes ingestion and integration of Sappa’s metadata into the MaginePro Console, giving Sappa back-end control to edit and manage metadata and enforce content rights, while integration with Sappa’s CRM and subscriber data enables a frictionless login and user experience for Sappa’s existing customers, including the option to upgrade packages. Other features include start over functionality for live video and up to seven days catch-up on content. Sappa also uses MaginePro’s CDN provisioning network and distribution infrastructure to deliver low-latency video streams to all devices.

With Magine Pro’s solution for Server Side Ad Insertion, Sappa can now offer broadcasters a feature that is well prepared for the growing demand of targeted advertising.

“Our work with Sappa is an excellent example of a fruitful partnership, with expanded functionality overtime. We are now happy to have contributed to the next step in Sappas growth of their OTT service,” says Matthew Wilkinson, CEO of Magine.

”Working with Magine Pro gives us access to a reliable and well working platform as well as Magine’s professional employees” says Hasse Svensson, CEO of AB Sappa . “We are happy to be partners with Magine and look forward to expand our OTT functionality further overtime.”

Server Side Ad Insertion is now available for all Magine’s partners and broadcasters to better monetise their ad-inventory by using target advertising.
