Tech4home highlights smart voice remote control solutions at IBC

September 12, 2019

Tech4home (Hall 3, Stand C62), a provider of innovative wireless remote control solutions for the home environment, will showcase Smart Voice Remote, a voice remote control line-up with Google integration, at IBC. Moreover, the company will present the latest additions to its Notus RCU Family Series which come with a new design and voice feature integration.

With the demand for voice triggered applications for the home constantly increasing, Tech4home introduces Smart Voice Remote, a hands-free voice remote control that does not require pressing a microphone button but relies on voice interaction instead.

Designed as an alternative to more expensive smart speakers, the remote control unit is fully compatible with existing voice remote systems and is triggered by one or more predefined keywords. “We are very proud to be one of the first providers that offers this solution integrated with Android TV. That gives users the possibility to talk to their smart TV like they are used to talk to other voice controlled solutions they already use. From now on, they can leave their remote on the coffee table while zapping through their favourite TV programmes”, Miguel Oliveira, CEO at Tech4home, states.

The Smart Voice Remote’s underlying AI technology keeps energy consumption low and provides for a simple, but effective and interoperable voice control solution. It can also be used together with other voice triggered systems without even needing to change the set-top box. “Our intention is to make set up and use of our smart voice remote as easy as possible”, Miguel Oliveira says.

Apart from the smart voice remote Tech4home will also showcase three additions to their Notus Family Series of remote controls. All three models feature voice integration with Google Android or any other voice control system like Alexa or Google voice assistant and are designed for specific use cases and user requirements. On the unique design features, Notus L and Notus M share the possibility of being customizable with Fabric and plastic replaceable covers.

The new Notus L comes with 38 keys and offers a completely new key layout which provides four specific shortcuts and can be tailored to the customer’s needs. The additional shortcut buttons on the unit are fully customizable and can each be assigned to a specific service. By simply pressing a button, users can access and switch between services like e.g. YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix or HBO Now.

The Notus M is Tech4home’s answer to operators and end users requesting a simplified remote control. With only 28 keys, it features the same high-end finishing that characterises the whole Notus product range. The Notus M is able to operate with set-top boxes and TV sets when it comes to an automatic setup.

As gaming is becoming more and more popular and both operators and end users are looking for smart solutions to intertwine RCU and gaming possibility, Tech4home created the Notus S specifically with gamers in mind. The compact solution  is designed to bring the gaming experience to the smart TV. It features 20 keys and allows users to play games offered by their TV service provider using their remote control. Due to the built-in gaming functionality, the RCU can be used like a gaming pad in both horizontal and vertical directions.

“Our new Notus models provide the same reliability and ease of use of the existing range of Notus products but are tailored to the needs of different types of users and use cases. As with all Tech4home products, we attached great importance to the design – for more comfort and an impeccable look and feel”, Miguel Oliveira concludes.

All solutions presented at IBC 2019 (Hall 3, Stand C62) are already available in the market and fully customisable.
