Video Clarity adds multi-channel capability to RTM Quality Monitoring Family

September 13, 2019

In the continual evolution of its RTM product family, Video Clarity, a provider of market-leading audio and video quality measurement and analysis systems, has announced ground breaking new capabilities for its RTM line of real-time audio and video monitoring solutions. New RTM products for high definition and standard definition testing provide additional channels of testing for broadcast and satellite distribution of encoded and statistically multiplexed channel groups.

“We are excited to provide a new multi-channel feature to the RTM line of products for program distributors that need accurate full-reference quality testing. This being applied to a single system that was previously specified to test one channel at a time provides users with a significant feature upgrade and cost savings” said Blake Homan, president and founder of Video Clarity.

The RTM solutions, whether configured for SDI or ST 2110 environments, will test a full satellite transponder of video programming in a single 1RU system. This gives users a density that saves space but more importantly gives a multi-instance test function that costs a similar amount to previous one-channel RTM systems.

The RTM solution applies the Emmy award winning MS-SSIM metric which applies an industry accepted method for accurately measuring quality by the University of Texas Laboratory for Video and Image Processing. By providing an independently developed and verified measurement with high correlation to human subjective quality studies, the MS-SSIM metric in Video Clarity’s RTM systems and software insures that tests performed are accurately scoring video content for the user.
