Sunset+Vine creates cricket magic with Tellyo cloud platform

September 14, 2019

Tellyo, developers of a cloud-based live video production suite, today announced that Sunset+Vine, a producer of global sports content, has used the Tellyo platform for the recent Cricket World Cup and T20 Test matches.

With Tellyo, Sunset+Vine package engaging highlights of ECB (Europe and Wales Cricket Board) Test matches, T20 games and international matches. To produce these highlights, livestreams are ingested into the Tellyo Pro platform, where the Susnet+Vine digital production team utilize Tellyo’s powerful Editor to provide instant clips for cricket fans globally. During the 2019 Test match, clips achieved more than 400 million impressions and more than 100 million views. The most popular Test match clip, on August 21st, yielded 11.3 million views and 164,000 engagements. The most popular overall T20 clip, on August 13th, yielded 15.3 million views with 80,000 engagements.

“Tellyo gives us the speed of deployment and reliability we require, especially when covering so many fixtures for the ECB,” said David Stranks, executive producer digital at Sunset+Vine. “The Tellyo team has helped us immensely by developing adaptations within their infrastructure to meet our requirements, ensuring that we continue to reach global cricket fans and drive greater engagement with ECB video content.”

Tellyo works closely with Sunset+Vine’s various sports productions, including Crufts, Super League Triathlon, the World Boxing Super Series, Hong Kong World Sixes, and the ECB.
“Over the last year, we’ve continued to work in close partnership with Sunset+Vine to develop our platform and assist in delivering each of their client’s visions,” said Richard Collins, CEO of Tellyo. “Sunset-Vine’s digital team were the first to use our data-driven smart editor to automate video clip production, speeding up workflows and ensuring that ECB clips continue to reach cricket fans first as events unfold.”

Tellyo Stream Studio enables users to vision mix, enhance streams and interactive graphics, overlays and social commentary and create bespoke broadcasts for digital and social channels. Tellyo enables livestreaming of broadcasts to multiple destinations at the same time and create near real-time edits – and publish them to all channels in the middle of social spikes. Adaptive bit rate, advance scheduling, and post-stream announcements are all part of the Tellyo package, which seamlessly integrates with Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram and stream to other destinations via RTMP.

With Tellyo, users can clip key moments from events in real-time, edit and enhance videos with branded overlays, bumpers, wipes, interactive graphics and effects. The Tellyo montage function enables you to rapidly produce highlight reels from events, and users can mix content from multiple sources (livestreams, past streams, clips already created and videos uploaded to the Tellyo platform). Tellyo Pro’s auto clip-to-post feature enables editors to fully automate clip creation, social messaging and social posting.
