Simon Pegg headlines London MCM Comic Con

September 25, 2019

MCM has revealed that Spaced, Star Trek, and Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg will be at next month’s MCM London Comic Con. The much-loved British actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer will be attending Saturday and Sunday of the show, taking to MCM’s Main Stage for a panel on October 27th.

After springing to prominence as the co-creator of Edgar Wright-helmed sitcom Spaced, Pegg went on to star in the UK director’s acclaimed ‘Three Flavours Cornetto’ movie trilogy – 2004’s Shaun of the Dead, 2007’s Hot Fuzz and 2013’s The World’s End.

Meanwhile Pegg’s Hollywood career has seen him ably filling James Doohan’s shoes as Star Trek’s Scotty, starring as the Enterprise’s engineer in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 big screen reboot and its sequels Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond (2016). Roles in Doctor Who and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens mean that Pegg has appeared in all of sci-fi’s Big Three franchises – one of only two actors to do so.

Another big name franchise to feature Pegg is long-running spy series Mission: Impossible, with the Gloucestershire-born actor starring as tech-savvy IMF agent Benji Dunn in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Ghost Protocol (2011), Rogue Nation (2015) and Fallout (2018). Pegg is currently appearing in Netflix fantasy drama The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, where he voices skekSil the Chamberlain, the power-hungry chief advisor of the Skeksis emperor.

Other credits include The Boys, Ready Player One, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, The Boxtrolls, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Band of Brothers and 24 Hour Party People.

Pegg will also write and star in the Amazon Original series Truth Seekers, which is currently in pre-production.
