Grabyo has formed a partnership with J-Stream, the Japan streaming services company, bringing new video production tools to Japanese broadcasters, publishers and online video services.
As part of the agreement, J-Stream will help bring Grabyo’s cloud video platform into video production workflows across the country. Grabyo’s browser-based tools ensure content publishers can create, edit and distribute video in real-time from any location, using only a laptop and internet connection.
Elliot Renton, Senior Director and Head of APAC, commented: “Just as it is across Asia, the online video industry is evolving rapidly in Japan. It has a significant broadband and payment infrastructure, plus a dynamic local content ecosystem across news, sport and entertainment which has unlimited potential. Audiences are demanding more choice and flexibility in how they consume content and this is driving more strategy and creativity across the industry. Online, mobile and the rise of digital consumption is taking full effect on the structure of the local TV market and our partnership with J-Stream will bring all the necessary tools to broadcast and digital teams in Japan to help them break free of the limitations they currently face and help future-proof their business.”
Toshio Ishimatsu, President of J-Stream, added: “The Japanese media industry is on the verge of rapid change. With the start of full-scale simultaneous online streaming by television stations and the rapid increase in online distribution of video content, we believe Grabyo will be indispensable to Japanese media.”
