The US Air Force will conduct a three-day test of its sophisticated Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) on SpaceX’s existing fleet of Starlink satellites.
Some 300 Starlink craft are now orbiting and will likely be joined by another 60 in the next few weeks.
The ABMS has been described as the “Internet of Things” for the military and will be tested during April.
The plan is for the satellites to be the central focus for US military air force, ships and ground-based solders with the aim to demonstrate connectivity for military systems in conflict zones.
