Freesat appoints Rowark Head of B2B sales

April 7, 2020

Freesat, the subscription-free satellite TV service, has announced the appointment of David Rowark as Head of B2B Sales.  This is a newly created role for the company in the year that it launches its new third generation, 4K-ready, set top boxes. Rowark will be responsible for driving the development of Freesat’s B2B sales arm, working alongside the retail sales team, as well as further developing the Metaphor project with potential partners.

Rowark comes to the role with many years of solid experience in the B2B sales and technology arenas, having held a number of senior Sales Director positions at both blue chip and start-up companies.  Most recently he led the Connected Home product sales for Western Digital across the EMEA region, establishing profitable relationships with major UK and European Telecom and TV service providers and significantly increasing sales revenue.  In addition, he steered relationships with cloud infrastructure providers, with products designed to help solve complex storage requirements.

Prior to his tenure at Western Digital, Rowark served as Sales Director for start-up company, Digital Vision Products Ltd, designing and supplying set top boxes to leading UK retailers and Government backed contracts supporting the Digital TV Switchover Campaign.  Rowark also jointly ran and held the position of Sales Director at a leading Business Partner for IBM Technology Group, driving the direct sales within their main accounts across Europe, as well as managing their distribution channel.

Director of Marketing, Andre Santos, commented, “David’s appointment is pivotal for us as we continue to explore opportunities whereby partners can benefit from Freesat’s TV proposition.  Strong, successful partnerships are key to Freesat and his vast experience in the industry will allow us to move forwards with these and help shape the future of the business.”
