Channelbox expands its line up with Islamic broadcasts

April 23, 2020

Broadcasting from London since 2004 and available on Sky, Virgin and Freesat Islam Channel and Islam Urdu have now landed on Freeview 271 on the first day of Ramadan.

The channels provide news, current affairs and entertainment programming from an Islamic perspective in English and Urdu.

These are the first Islamic channels on the platform which already hosts France24, Rudaw, Hellenic TV, Vox Africa, Law&Crime and Faith UK.

Channelbox unique user-interface remembers the last watched channel and shows it by default on subsequent visits. This feature gives an opportunity to broadcasters to market Freeview 271 as their own channel number.

“Our aim is to bring the most diverse television offering to UK screens and we are thrilled to deliver these two channels to the Muslim community living in the UK in time for the Holy month of Ramadan“ said Head of Channelbox Business Development Tanya Kronfli.

“In a multi-cultural society such as UK it is essential that everyone feels part of the wider community. We are excited to expand the audience of our channels through the biggest TV platform in the UK and at the beginning of the most important month for Muslims” said Founder of Islam Channel and Islam Urdu Mohamed Ali Harrath
