May 18, 2020

Deltatre has announced that Ron Downey will be stepping down from his role as President of the company’s OTT division. Downey was previously the CEO and Co-founder of UK-based OTT specialist Massive which was acquired by Deltatre in November 2018. He will remain on the board and maintain a strong ongoing relationship with the company in the capacity of strategic advisor.

Downey said:  “This is the next logical step in the evolution of Deltatre post-merger with Massive. We are now one strong integrated company – leading our category globally, and I’m delighted to be able to continue my support for the group through continued involvement on the board and as an advisor.”

Replacing Downey will be Gilles Mas, current President of Deltatre’s Live division. He will soon celebrate seven years with the firm and is pres ently responsible for delivering products and services that power the most significant live sports events around the world. He is a proven sport and media leader with two decades of history empowering high-performing specialist teams. He brings extensive experience in the field and has substantial existing relationships with the senior leaders and experts in the OTT division. Previous to joining Deltatre Mas held a series of senior roles at UEFA from 2002 to 2012.

Tony Page, President of Deltatre’s Digital division, will take over Mas’s Live division responsibilities while maintaining his current accountabilities. With over 19 years of industry experience, this will be Page’s tenth role at Deltatre. Page led Deltatre’s Digital division to its current market leadership in sport and he has a background in Broadcast Services at Deltatre, Formula 1 and Hawk-Eye Innovations.

Deltatre CEO and Co-founder, Giampiero Rinaudo said: “The fact that this integration happened so positively and so quickly is a testament to Deltatre’s strong management team and the similarity of Deltatre’s and Massive’s cultures. All this would not have been possible without Ron’s full support and commitment, and we are very happy that he will continue to be involved in our future. OTT is our biggest division, and Gilles, who has managed our Football and Live divisions exceptionally well is the perfect candidate to succeed Ron.”

Rinaudo continued: “Tony is the ideal leader to guide the Live and Digital divisions toward further integration of the Digital, Data and Broadcast world that we all see happening. This smooth senior management transition demonstrates the solidity of the group and our ability to constantly manage change and achieve growth, even during Covid-19 with more than 1000 people working from home.”
