Samer Halawi, Intelsat Chief Commercial Officer, in a blog bost, says that Intelsat’s day-to-day operations “will not change” despite the company’s Chapter 11 ‘debtor in possession’ bankruptcy.
He reminds readers that the satellite operator delivers TV and radio channels to more than 2 billion people. Intelsat carries 6445 channels, as well as operating “the largest Cellular Backhaul networks on satellite” and “providing in-flight connectivity to 75 per cent of all commercial airplanes.”
Halawai continues: “We are at a transformational moment in the history of our company, and we are choosing to undertake a financial restructuring that will better position us – and our valued customers – for long-term success, with additional resources and wind in our sails. We are continuing to move our business forward – at full speed and without interruption. And, we remain laser-focused on serving our customers, with all of our world-class capabilities, and with the same high level of excellence they have come to expect from us.”
