Tuesday Child’s Killer Camp heads to the US
June 17, 2020
The CW has announced it has completed a major deal for Tuesday’s Child’s new horror whodunnit reality competition, Killer Camp.
As well as optioning the format exclusively in the US The CW Network has picked up the 5×60’ finished tape of the first series, which originally broadcast in the UK on ITV2 last Halloween, for its summer programming line-up.
In Tuesday’s Child’s Killer Camp, 11 strangers are shocked to discover they are not going on a fun new reality show called “Summer Camp’” but actually participating in a “murder” mystery series called “Killer Camp”.
The object of the game is to earn cash while avoiding being killed and therefore eliminated from the game. Each night someone is ‘murdered’ – and the remaining campers must determine who the secret murderer is amongst them. Assisted by the evil camp handyman Bruce, who actually executes the hilarious death scenes on behalf of the killer, the innocent campers are bumped off one by one in ever more extreme, hilarious and inventive ways. Can they work out who is responsible before it’s too late…?
Karen Smith, CEO of Tuesday’s Child, who helped broker the deal alongside Michael Kagan of ICM Partners, says: “It’s fantastic to be working with The CW team again. Killer Camp is a perfect acquisition for right now when all new reality shows are paused. It’s a fresh and exciting mix of sexy, young reality and gameshow, with an intriguing whodunit twist that keeps viewers guessing, and talking about the show, till the final ep.”
Keshet International distributes the format and finished tape of Killer Camp on behalf of Tuesday’s Child Television. Talks are on-going with other broadcast partners elsewhere.
Hosted by comedian Bobby Mair and executive produced by Steph Harris, Killer Camp is from Tuesday’s Child and originally aired on ITV2 for Halloween 2019 and will repeat on ITV2 later this month daily from 22 June.
