SiriusXM names new CEO & CFO

US pay-radio operator SiriusXM is losing its CEO and CFO.

CEO James Meyer will retire on December 31st while CFO David Frear “will be pursuing other opportunities” after 17 years at the company.

Jennifer Witz, currently president of sale, marketing & operations at the company, will take over from Meyer, while the radio broadcaster has appointed Sean Sullivan (currently at AMC Networks) as CFO.

Meyer will stay on as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Witz has been with SiriusXM since March 2002 and has served in a variety of senior financial and operating roles. From September 2005 to August 2017, she was the company’s SVP/President, Finance, from May 2003 to September 2005, she was its VP/Finance, and from March 2002 to May 2003, she was its Senior Director/Finance. Before joining Sirius XM, Ms. Witz was VP/Planning and Development, at Viacom.

Witz will sign a new contract that takes her through to Dec 31st 2023 and will join the company’s Board once she takes over as CEO.

Sullivan has been the EVP and CFO at AMC since June 2011. From September 2010 to June 2011, he was the Chief Corporate Officer of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, the predecessor of AMC Networks Inc. and then a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corp. Prior to that, Mr. Sullivan was CFO at HiT Entertainment, a children’s entertainment company, from 2009 to 2010.
