VA Media, the APAC social video monetisation agency, has launched a new YouTube content ID service for producers, production companies and film & television distributors.
VA Media owns and manages some of the world’s largest movie and TV-based YouTube channels, including Movie Central– which boasts 20 million views monthly. The newly announced fee-based service is designed to enable smaller rights holders and content owners protect and monetise TV, Movie and Music content on YouTube.
For smaller publishers, YouTube rights management is a manual and time-consuming process, conducted sporadically at best – this is where VA Media’s Content ID service can assist. Developing a personalised Content ID policy based on rights availabilities – with options to monetise, block, or takedown user-generated uploads.
After policy is established, the custom tool scans YouTube to find pirated videos matching authenticated rights. For extra rigour, the scan is supplemented with monthly manual searches by VA Media. Once pirated content is identified and monetised through the service, VA Media supplies monthly revenue reports and pays through on a monthly cycle. A clear point of difference in an industry which frequently operates on quarterly terms.
