AMC Networks extends Sky Media partnership

November 19, 2020

AMC Networks International – UK (AMCNI – UK) has renewed its advertising sales contract with Sky Media, the advertising sales arm of Sky.

Long-term partners, AMCNI – UK and Sky have agreed a new multi-year deal, which they say will “broaden and deepen their strong commercial relationship”. Sky Media will continue to sell advertising and sponsorship inventory across AMCNI – UK’s four linear channels under the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership umbrella in the UK, and two in the Republic of Ireland, with the deal being expanded to include their ever-growing on demand content.

Amongst other commitments in the partnership, the deal will also see the enablement of addressable targeting capabilities across the linear channels through Sky’s award-winning AdSmart technology.

Kevin Dickie, Managing Director and Executive Vice President, AMC Networks International – UK said: “The CBS UK channels have seen dramatic growth in recent years with an incredibly loyal audience delivering 3.5 per cent of the UK’s commercial TV impacts.  We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Sky Media to continue to connect advertisers with this audience on our linear channels, and on our expanding VoD offering.”

John Litster, Managing Director at Sky Media, said: “Following a record-breaking year for AMC Networks International – UK, we’re delighted to broaden and extend our relationship. Through selling AMCNI – UK’s strong on demand portfolio and offering addressable advertising on their shows for the very first time, Sky Media customers now get even greater access to rich content with diverse audiences.”

Sky Media currently represents all of Sky’s channels and also sells on behalf of a range of major broadcasters and channels including Channel 5, Viacom, Discovery Networks and most recently, BT Sport.
