Amazon and Michael B. Jordan’s production banner, Outlier Society, have enhanced their partnership, signing the Hollywood actor and his company into a first-look film deal and an overall television deal.
Amazon said the deal will see Outlier “produce and acquire elevated films showcasing diverse, bold filmmakers and talent for the studio’s ever-growing original movies slate.”
Amazon has initially given a debut date for Jordan’s starring vehicle, Without Remorse. The action movie, based on the novel by Tom Clancy, will launch globally on Prime Video on April 30th.
The new deal will also have cross-collaboration with Amazon’s wide array of businesses, which is describes as a ““360-degree creative collaboration”. Jordan appeared in Amazon’s Super Bowl spot on February 7th promoting its Alexa service.
“We’re excited to deepen our relationship with Outlier Society,” said Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke. “We can’t wait for everyone to see Without Remorse, our next chapter in the Tom Clancy universe. It’s an action-packed thrill ride fans will love.”
Jordan added: “Bringing Outlier Society’s slate of film, television and multi-media content all under the same roof is an exciting next chapter for us. Amazon’s global and expansive reach offers us the ability to entertain and engage our audience in innovative ways, while maintaining our commitment to supporting a wide range of stories and storytellers. I’m thrilled to be kicking off the partnership with Without Remorse this Spring.”
