Bollywood’s Talpade launches Nine Rãsã OTT

Bollywood star Shreyas Talpade has launched his own OTT platform, Nine Rãsã, offering theatre and performing arts content.
As the pandemic continues to affect the theatre and arts industry, Talpade has launched the platform to enable the show to go on, and provide theatre fans with an online viewing experience.
Commenting on the launch, Talpade said: “Theatre is one of the oldest and purest forms of entertainment. Amid our busy lives and newer entertainment options available, theatre has taken a back-seat over the years, and that kept bothering me. In order to bring theatre back with a similar vigour and excitement, this time was the most suitable. Through Nine Rãsã, we got an opportunity to not only enrich the lives of our audience through superior, original content but also collaborate with the entire theatre community at large.”
“There is going to be a lot of content completely dedicated to theatre and the performing arts. All the content that happens or can happen on stage will feature on our OTT, Nine Rãsã. That includes full-length plays, one-act plays, skits, stand-ups, chats, stories, poetry, music, dance and more. It will feature all Indian languages. To begin with, we have content in Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati apart from English. Going forward we will also be adding other Indian languages like Bengali, Malayalam, Rajasthani, Haryanvi to our kitty,” Talpade added.
Content for the self-funded app has been in preparations ever since lockdown last year.
“We have not acquired ready content. Instead, we have over 100 hours of content exclusively shot for Nine Rãsã, which is completely original. The content will be live in a phased manner,” Talpade concluded.
Nine Rãsã is available for download on Google as well Apple Play Stores priced at Rs 59/month and 599/year.
