Codemill announces support for AWS for Media & Entertainment Initiative

April 29, 2021

Codemill has announced support for the AWS for Media & Entertainment initiative from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to simplify the management of media production workflows using the power of data science and analytics.

AWS for Media & Entertainment is an initiative featuring new and existing services and solutions from AWS and AWS Partners, built specifically for content creators, rights holders, producers, broadcasters, and distributors. AWS adds the newly announced Amazon Nimble Studio, a service that enables customers to set up creative studios in hours instead of weeks, to a portfolio of more purpose-built media and entertainment industry services than any other cloud, including AWS Elemental MediaPackage, AWS Elemental MediaConnect, AWS Elemental MediaLive, AWS Elemental MediaConvert, and Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS). AWS for Media & Entertainment also simplifies the process of building, deploying, and reinventing mission-critical industry workloads by aligning AWS and AWS Partner capabilities against five solution areas: Content Production; Media Supply Chain & Archive; Broadcast; Direct-to-Consumer & Streaming; and Data Science & Analytics.

The rise in video services is leading to increased competition in the video landscape. To keep subscribers happy, video providers are producing higher quality video and adding more engaging video content than ever before. At the same time, increased demand means that content providers need to maximise workflow efficiencies and reduce capital costs, while continuing to deliver high quality video content to viewers. Accurate.Video includes API integration with a number of AWS Media Services for seamless quality management of video content. AWS Media Services make it fast and easy to produce, process, and deliver broadcast and over-the-top video.

Accurate.Video is a web-based video platform created for remote broadcast, post-production and media professionals. It can be seamlessly integrated with existing tools and storage. With Accurate.Video Validate, content operations teams can frame accurately Quality Check (QC) video, with discrete audio tracks and multiple subtitles. It can also verify time-based metadata, all using a standard web browser, with extensive keyboard shortcuts. It includes advanced metadata visualization, professional media quality control and validation, advanced audio features, and support for subtitles and closed captions, as well as annotations and markers.

Validate runs on Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), a fully managed container orchestration service. API integration with Amazon Rekognition makes it easy to add image and video analysis to applications using proven, highly scalable, deep learning technology that requires no machine learning expertise to use. Thanks to this integration, users can automate some of the otherwise labour-intensive processes associated with quality control of video content. This includes automatically identifying objects or scenes that need to be removed or detecting suitable places for a shot change or ad break marker.

API integration with AWS Elemental MediaConvert also allows users to easily transcode video content from within Accurate.Video, and prepare it for distribution to multiple platforms. MediaConvert is a file-based video processing service that formats and compresses offline content for delivery to televisions or connected devices.

Rickard Lönneborg, CEO, Codemill, commented: “Media workflows need to be flexible enough to adapt for constant evolution. By integrating with AWS Media Services, our customers harness the power of data science to adapt and grow their video services while maximizing efficiencies, without sacrificing on quality.”

Accurate.Video Validate is available in AWS Marketplace. AWS Marketplace is a digital catalog of third-party software, services, and data that makes it easy to find, buy, deploy, and manage software on AWS.
