Amazon to launch first UK TikTok Original series

August 25, 2021

Amazon Prime Video will launch its first ever UK TikTok Original series, Just So You Know, on August 26th.

Spotlighting six LGBTQ+ TikTok creators, Just So You Know will see them write remarkable love letters to the love of their lives, confessing how they feel and exploring what love looks like in modern times.

Featuring Tyreece Nye, DJ Krystal Lake, dancer and choreographer Tarek Khwiss, Bailey Mills, drill artist Mista Strange and TikTok star Elliot Douglas, the letters were brought to life by Keith Jarrett, an award-winning writer and performer who tackles topics like history, sexuality and religion. The production’s director is Joseph Wilson, a filmmaker and drag artist whose work is centred around identity and self-acceptance.

Speaking on the project, Wilson said: “I’m passionate about celebrating marginalised communities and bringing our narratives to mainstream audiences. That’s why the opportunity to create a series highlighting what love means to the LGBTQ+ community was so special.”

Daniel Molyneaux composed the soundtrack for each episode, which is available as a TikTok Sound so the community can feature it in their own videos.

Just So You Know was inspired by the Amazon Original TV show, Modern Love,  and is the first new and original series in the UK exclusively created for and hosted on TikTok. All the casting, directing, shooting, editing, post-production and broadcasting decisions have been made with the platform in mind.
