Czech Republic: O2 selects SoftAtHome’s Wifi’ON

SoftAtHome, an independent software company for broadband, video, and analytics, is powering the new O2 Smart Box launched by the Czech operator in May.
O2 has chosen to rely again on SoftAtHome’s Digital Home expertise after the previous O2 Smart Box in 2017 and the Wireless Smart Booster in 2019.
The new O2 Smart Box combines the features of a powerful gateway with guaranteed QoS, a Wi-Fi router, and a smart home hub. Its design is customisable by the owner, thanks to design prints on its sides and a selection of front display clock faces. Moreover, SoftAtHome has integrated Wi-Fi 6 technology into the new O2 Smart Box, enabling clients to enjoy Wi-Fi and TV everywhere in their homes without saturating the network.
“After the success of the first generation of O2 Smart Boxes, we were driven by the desire to deliver the best Home experience to our customers. Primary targets were the improvement of better and faster Wi-Fi and new design with the possibility of visual individualisation by the user. The new O2 Smart Box is an entirely new device which combines the best of previous versions with new components, functions and tools,” explained Roman Bacík, Director of product and innovation at O2 Czech Republic.
