SpaceX was extremely discreet about abandoning a planned launch last weekend of one of its Falcon 9 rockets carrying a batch of Starlink satellites.
The launch, from Vandenberg Space Force Base, would have placed the Starlink cargo into polar or near-polar orbits.
Launch was set for between 10.34-11.34 on October 17th. SpaceX has not explained the reason for the delay, and a new launch date has not been released.
The precise number of satellites on board the rocket was not specified but would have been about 51. The last Vandenberg Starlink launch happened in September.
The landing barge, initially stationed off the California coast, was recalled to its Long Beach home.
