Insight TV on LG U+ in South Korea

November 18, 2021

Insight TV has announced that its linear UHD HDR service will launch on LG U+ in South Korea.

This launch comes after three successful years reaching viewers in South Korea with the Insight TV 4K service on the SKB 4K package and Insight TV programming on the UMAX platform and now means that Insight TV is available on two of the three primary TV platforms in the market.

Insight TV will bring its millennial and youth focused lifestyle, entertainment, and adventure programming to channel 993.

THEMA Asia-Pacific and its local South Korean team continue to be a key partner in the success of Insight TV. Today, Insight TV is one of the few international 4K channels available and we look forward to THEMA’s support as we continue our market expansion.

This launch brings the number of mobile and digital platforms carrying Insight TV UHD around the world to 110.

“We are overwhelmed by the positive response to our UHD channel in the South Korean market and proud that Insight TV UHD delivers on LG U+’s high standards for technical and programming quality.” said Graeme Stanley, Chief Commercial Officer, Insight TV.

“We are thrilled to expand Insight TV in South Korea, where the demand and consumption of 4K content is growing.  LG U+ subscribers will experience a new genre of programming, at the highest 4K production standard,” added Alexandre Bac, Managing Director, THEMA Asia-Pacific.

Jumi Lee, from LG U+’s IPTV Linear Channel Acquisition Team, commented “LG U+ is very happy to provide Insight TV, a leading UHD HDR entertainment channel to domestic viewers through LG U+.  Insight TV is expected to provide Korean viewers with a different kind of fun with content in various fields such as documentaries, entertainment shows, music festivals, and extreme sports in true 4K UHD.”
