VeEX introduces new FX182 optical channel checker for 5G and Fiber Deep
November 18, 2021
VeEX, a global player in innovative test and measurement solutions for next-generation networks, formally introduces the general availability of its FX182 Optical Channel Checker (OCC). A compact solution to measuring both CWDM and DWDM in 5G networks and Fiber Deep, the FX182 minimizes cross-contamination that may occur when swapping between test sets.
Effortless hybrid xWDM network testing is achieved by displaying both CWDM/DWDM channels on a single viewing screen.
Key features include:
- DWDM 100 GHz ITU-T G.694.1 C & L-Bands (1520 nm to 1610 nm)
- CWDM ITU-T G.694.2 from 1271 to 1611 nm (20 nm spacing)
- 5G optical channel plans
- Measurement range -50 to +15 dBm
- Next-gen user interface with larger buttons and fonts
- 3 view modes: tiles*, bar graph and table view (includes a full summary screen)
“The FX182 is the newest addition to our OCC product family that eliminates the need to carry two different test sets, allowing for easy maneuvering between the central office, nodes/mux or customer sites. The FX182 is designed to simplify single/multi-channel testing for signals between 186.09 THz to 235.87 THz and offers diverse application testing through user defined profiles. Pre-defined application test profiles are available for xWDM/PON networks, 5G optical channel plans, multi-wavelength transceivers such as LR4/LR8, or users can customize their own profiles,” said Monica Hua, Product Marketing Engineer at VeEX.
As fiber is deployed closer to the edge, the flexible and adaptable FX182 provides easier fiber testing whether it is on xWDM, PON, Fiber Deep or 5G networks. Its future-proof design includes the ability to test DWDM L-band, making it the perfect solution for the installation and maintenance of multi-channel network testing.
