Inventing Anna enters Netflix Most Popular list

In its second week of release, Vikings: Valhalla climbed its way to the top of the Netflix English TV list with 113.38 million hours viewed, making it the most viewed title in the week commencing February 28th. Shonda Rhimes’ Inventing Anna wasn’t too far behind with 77.59 million hours viewed. Three weeks into its release, the limited series stayed in the Top 10 in 91 countries and made its way onto the Most Popular list (based on hours viewed in their first 28 days on Netflix) with 481.68 million hours viewed.


Two new series also made their way onto the Top 10; Based on the New York Times bestseller by Karin Slaughter, Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote star in thriller Pieces of Her, which pulled in 53.68 million hours viewed. With 52.38 million hours viewed, Worst Roommate Ever gave viewers a popular glimpse into some of the most terrifying cohabitating experiences .

French thriller Restless stays atop the non-English Films list with 26.03 million hours viewed. The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure took viewers on an epic adventure. The Korean film had 17.71 million hours viewed, and within the Top 10 in 66 countries. Love is in the air as Meskina debuts on the list with 2.94 million hours viewed.

On the English films side, the Leighton Meester murder-mystery The Weekend Away debuted at #1 with 44.45 million hours viewed and appeared in the Top 10 in 94 countries. Based on the true story of Denmark’s 1909 polar expedition, Against The Ice came in second with 30.73 million hours viewed. The film, starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Joe Cole and Heida Reed, made its way into the Top 10 in 93 countries. Meanwhile, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming remained in the Top 10 with an additional 26.41 million hours viewed.

After 6 straight weeks, All of Us Are Dead kept viewers on the edge of their seats with 24.02 million hours viewed, sticking in the Top 10 in 50 countries. Set in Turkey, historical-fiction fantasy Midnight in the Pera Palace had 10.78 million hours viewed on the non-English TV list.
