Extreme E recognised as environmental pioneer at Expo 2020 Dubai

As Expo 2020 Dubai concludes after 182 days, it marks an opportunity to reflect on Extreme E’s contribution at the event as a leading light in raising awareness of the climate crisis and preserving the environment for future generations.unique livery for its Season 2 showcar, designed to help raise attention and awareness of the climate crisis. The new livery concept for the ODYSSEY 21 was designed with hand prints wrapping, covering the car’s surface. This innovative design demonstrates the real spirit of the series’ pledge to ‘tackle climate change through sport’.
Dubai Expo 2020 has been recognised as a six-month celebration of innovation, collaboration and inspiration focuses which are shared by Extreme E as a sport for purpose electric motorsport Championship. Prior to the opening round of Extreme E in 2022 in NEOM, Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai celebrated the launch of Season 2 and unveiled the Championship’sNames of all Extreme E employees, who worked tirelessly to deliver the series’ inaugural season in 2021, also feature on the car. This concept displays the importance of collective working to help fight climate change.
The Pavilion also broadcast the Desert X Prix to its audience at Expo 2020 Dubai, where Rosberg X Racing (RXR) were crowned the winners at the first round of Season 2. Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer at Extreme E, said: “It was a fantastic experience unveiling our showcar at Expo 2020 Dubai ahead of the first X Prix of Season 2.
